Export Requirements for Hong Kong Textiles and Clothing Products
In accordance with the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on Textiles and Clothing (ATC), all quantitative restrictions on textiles and clothing (T&C) products among Members of the WTO (including Hong Kong) have come to an end on 1 January 2005. Hong Kong's T&C exports now enjoy quota-free access to all markets. A simple yet effective control system after 2004 is in place to ensure origin compliance of Hong Kong's T&C exports. The Trade and Industry Department issued a trade circular on 30 November 2004 setting out the detailed arrangements for textiles import and export licensing, Production Notification (PN) and Certificate of Origin (CO) requirements for 2005. |
